Do you buy vintage?
Clearing out grandma’s wardrobe or your great aunt’s attic? Please don’t throw the clothing out. I am always interested in purchasing vintage clothing, accessories and costume jewellery from the 1920s to the 1970s, and designer clothing from the 1970s to the 1990s in excellent condition.
Catwalk Creative Vintage is a retail business, not a valuer, so I do not provide valuations and cannot give you an estimate for what your vintage item is worth.
If you have items that you wish to sell, please send the following information to Louise at catwalkcreative@gmail.com and I will get back to you as soon as possible:
- Send a brief description of the item(s) you want to sell, including information about the condition and any faults.
- Digital pictures must be attached to your e-mail. I cannot respond to enquiries without photographs.
- Please include an estimated price you want for your items with the understanding that I am only able to pay a wholesale price.
- Please include any other information you think necessary. For example, does the item require professional dry cleaning?
- I am not currently buying vintage furs or 80s/90s clothing unless it includes a designer label.
Catwalk Creative Vintage has a sterling reputation in the vintage clothing industry and I will make sure your vintage garments are treated with the utmost care and respect. I will find new homes where they will be loved and worn again.
Antique legal documents: I do not provide valuations and do not wish to purchase any antique documents. You should contact a registered valuer or auction house if you have documents to sell or if you wish to find out more information about them. Thank you.

Why buy vintage?
Without question, most vintage enthusiasts would say that it's all about the styling of vintage clothes, along with the quality of craftsmanship, fabrics and colours that makes wearing and collecting vintage so addictive.
People often talk about the demise of shopping 'vintage' but it's so much more than a passing fashion trend. The popularity of vintage shopping will no doubt ebb and flow, just like it always has done. Despite what the younger generation might think (that's people under the age of 20 years), wearing vintage is hardly a new phenomenon. Fashion conscious men and women have been drawn to the allure of 'old clothing' for decades, and it doesn't look like the situation is going to change any time soon. It goes without saying that prices will fluctuate, vintage trends will come and go and designers will always look to past decades for their inspiration. However, quality vintage pieces will always be desirable to those looking for something unique and special to add to their wardrobe.
Without question, wearing vintage is good for the planet. There are no manufacturing processes that cause pollution and no slave labour involved. In an article published by The Observer in 2010, they say that 'fast fashion' is driven by consumer appetites. They also go on to confirm that the public loves fashion but they also dump two million tonnes of textile waste (mostly clothing) in landfill each year, which suggests they don't value it. Consumers therefore end up with the type of fashion retail they deserve - rubbish, poorly made clothing! And therefore a new plan of action is required. Vintage is an eco-friendly alternative and can be a great investment too.
Wearing vintage is a great way to approach fashion and there are no age barriers. Whether you are eighteen or eighty, you can find a wide variety of designs from past eras which offer endless style opportunities. Wearing vintage allows you to be creative with your wardrobe and to develop your own style.
Furnish your home with vintage and retro homeware. It's fun and rewarding to furnish your home with unique pieces that each has a story to tell. There's an amazing variety of mid-century ceramics and glassware that are now highly sought after by interior designers and the like - so why not follow their lead? There is something very special about homeware items that have been previously loved. The gentle patina of age only adds to their beauty and elegance.
I hope you will take some time to view my vintage categories to see what tempting pieces you can find to adhorn yourself and your home.

How do I know if the clothing will fit me?
If you want to make sure the clothing on this website fits you, it's important that you know your measurements. I therefore recommend you use a good quality tape-measure and measure yourself regularly. I provide full measurements (in centimetres and inches). Measurements are taken with the garment laid flat and side seams straight.
Generally speaking, vintage clothing measures about two sizes smaller than modern day clothing. For example, a vintage size 14 is the equivalent to a modern day size 10. However, I always recommend you go by the measurements rather than the actual clothing size which varies considerably from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Please refer to my Clothing Size Guide for assistance on getting the right fit or email if you require additional measurements for any of the garments listed. I'm always happy to help.

Can you help me find a particular style of vintage garment?
Yes of course. I will try my best to help. Please complete the contact form confirming what you are looking for. It will also be helpful to know your full measurements, your shopping budget and what country you reside (due to shipping restrictions). Thank you.
