Gold Aurora Borealis Rhinestone Necklace c.1950s

Magnificent gold-tone, aurora borealis rhinestone necklace with a festoon-style centre. It offers great sparkle and shine. The aurora borealis (ab), faceted rhinestones are prong-set onto a lovely smooth gold-tone plating. The stones measure 4mm, 6mm and 8mm each. Fastens with a spring-ring clasp. This necklace is fairly unusual in that most ab necklaces come with a silver-tone finish.  As you can see from the photographs below, the gold-tone really adds lots of shine and opulence which is typical of costume jewellery from the 1950s.

Condition:
Excellent. All the stones are bright and intact. There are some light surface scratches to the gold-tone plating on the reverse of the necklace which is to be expected on a piece of this age.
