Hubert Taffin de Givenchy started his career in 1945. He worked with designers Piquet, Jacques Fath and Lelong and was always noted for his supremely elegant clothes which had a timeless appeal. His designs adorned famous stars including Audrey Hepburn, Gene Kelly and Jacqueline Kennedy. Even to this day his designs are a hit with those who prefer quality rather than quantity. He designed many film costumes including the Audrey Hepburn film,Funny Face.
