DIANE FREIS Floral Drawstring Blouse, Medium c.1980s

Pretty vintage blouse by American designer Diane Freis dating c.1980s. Please refer to the designer information below. Loose fitting bodice with cropped sleeves and elastic cuffs. V-neckline trimmed with lilac braid and tassels. Red machine-embroidered stitches run in zig-zag lines, parallel to the neckline. Lilac tassels fasten as shown in the image above, or higher up, across the chest if preferred. There are two small beads in lilac and white, attached to the end of each tassel. The drawstring hem can be gathered at the waist for a blouson effect, or left open and loose as preferred. The silky georgette fabric has a beautiful lustre and sheen. It's decorated with bright, vibrant florals in a host of colours including red, yellow, lilac, pink, green and blue. There would have been a matching skirt with this item originally (not included). Diane Freis was established in 1978. The American fashion designer is renowned for her floral designs in silk and georgette fabrics. She first arrived in Hong Kong with just a handful of dedicated seamstresses. Today she heads a multi-national corporation from her headquarters there.
